Introduction
The ServiceNow populates and maintains the ServiceNow implementation with information from Snow License Manager. The two ServiceNow connectors in Snow Integration Manager connect to Snow License Manager Web API, and collect information on computers, users, and installed software. The information is then uploaded to ServiceNow, and transformed and inserted into destination tables by the CMDB Integration and Product and Catalog Update Integration applications installed in the ServiceNow instance.
Although ServiceNow is delivered and installed as two separate connectors and applications, they are always meant to be used together. The Snow Software Catalog Integration connector populates the Product Catalog with hardware and software models, as well as manufacturers. Also, it includes a sample methodology for fetching and displaying additional information in real-time from the Snow License Manager web API. The sample included is a customized view with information on available licenses and compliance details in the approval step of software requests in ServiceNow.
The Snow Software CMDB Integration connector populates the CMDB with information on hardware and software assets, and relationships between hardware, software, and users.
-
The ServiceNow delivered via ServiceNow Store is not compatible with previous versions of ServiceNow delivered via XML Update sets. If ServiceNow, delivered via ServiceNow Store, is installed on top of an existing installation, delivered via XML Update sets, this may result in corruption, loss or duplication of data.
