Manage a Microsoft CIDC

Learn how to generate a Clean Inventory Data Contract (CIDC) related to your Microsoft products in SAM Core on Snow Atlas.

Export the CIDC

note
  • In SAM Core, the name of the CIDC file is Clean Inventory Data Contract (CIDC) - Excel export only.

  • The CIDC must be in .xlsx format and it is only available for export.

  • The CIDC can only be generated in English.

  • The export date will be automatically added to the CIDC file name.

  1. On the SAM Core menu, select Reports.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • In Find report, enter your search criteria, for example: CIDC

    • Expand the Microsoft report group.

  3. Select the download icon next to the Clean Inventory Data Contract (CIDC) - Excel export only report.

  4. In Export to file:

    1. Name and Type are automatically set and cannot be changed.

    2. Optionally, change the Description.

  5. Click Save.

You find the exported CIDC on the Report files page.

Open the CIDC

  1. On the SAM Core menu, under Reports, select Report files.

  2. Select the download icon next to the CIDC export.

  3. Select to open the report or to save the report to disk.

Verify and complete the CIDC

The CIDC is populated with data from SAM Core on Snow Atlas, given that the requested information is stored in the database.

Any errors in the file are indicated by a red background and the prefix [ERR:…].

Columns with values that need to be verified are indicated by a yellow background.

Columns destined for information that is not stored in SAM Core will be left empty, and need to be completed manually, if mandatory. In some cases, a default value will be set instead. The sections that follow describe these columns and values, and what actions the SAM administrator needs to take to complete the file.

note

To correct and complete the CIDC, use the information provided in the WorkSpace Domain Data – Definition Document that can be found on the WorkSpace website.
