Manage cost periods in Microsoft 365

Learn how to view, add, edit, and delete cost periods for Microsoft 365 subscriptions in SAM Core on Snow Atlas.

View cost periods

  1. On the SAM Core menu, under Applications, select Microsoft 365, and then select Cost.

  2. Under Subscription cost details, select the subscription in the list.

    The Cost page for the subscription appears.

  3. Select View cost periods.

Add cost periods

A cost period is valid until a new cost period is added. Hence, if the cost for a license or a subscription plan changes, a new cost period must be added. It is possible to add both older and future cost periods. However, it is only possible to add an old cost period if there is subscription and user data imported for this period.

  1. On the SAM Core menu, under Applications, select Microsoft 365, and then select Cost.

  2. Under Subscription cost details, select the subscription in the list.

    The Cost page for the subscription appears.

  3. Select View cost periods.

  4. Select Add cost period.

    A side panel appears.

  5. Select Month, Year, Monthly cost and Currency for the subscription.

  6. Select Add cost.

  7. If the cost period is not added automatically in the list, refresh the page.

Edit cost periods

  1. On the SAM Core menu, under Applications, select Microsoft 365, and then select Cost.

  2. Under Subscription cost details, select the subscription in the list.

    The Cost page for the subscription appears.

  3. Select View cost periods.

  4. Select the edit icon on the row for the cost period that you want to edit.

    A panel slides out.

  5. Select the correct values for Month, Year, Monthly cost, and Currency for the subscription.

  6. Select Save cost.

  7. If the cost period is not updated automatically in the list, refresh the page.

Delete cost periods

  1. On the SAM Core menu, under Applications, select Microsoft 365, and then select Cost.

  2. Under Subscription cost details, select the subscription in the list.

    The Cost page for the subscription appears.

  3. Select View cost periods.

  4. Select the delete icon on the row for the cost period that you want to delete.

  5. Select Yes.

  6. If the cost period is not deleted automatically in the list, refresh the page.
