User settings: Reference
Refer to the tables below for field descriptions when you want to change the settings for your user account in SAM Core on Snow Atlas.
Settings
The Settings tab has four sections; User interface, Reporting and exports, Import, and License allocation.
Refer to the table below for field descriptions of the User interface section.
Field label | Description |
---|---|
Default size for lists | The default behavior for how lists are presented in the user interface.
|
Days to show updated remark on alerts | The number of days an alert will be indicated as recently updated in the Alert list widget of the Snowboard. A recently updated alert is indicated by a blue dot next to it. |
Show start page as | The selected Home page in SAM Core; Snowboard or Alert list. |
Auto select sub levels in organization selectors | If this setting is enabled, sub-nodes are automatically selected when you select an organization node in search and report criteria. This is useful if you have several nodes with multiple sub-nodes and wish to filter content on a specific node including all of its sub-nodes. |
In computer and user details, show only applications that require a license | If this setting is enabled, only applications that require a license will be displayed in the detail views for computers, mobile devices, and users. All other applications are hidden but will be available in lists, reports, and searches depending on how you chose to filter them. |
Expand alert groups automatically | By default, some of the agreement and license alerts are grouped in the Alert list widget of the Snowboard and on the Overview pages. The details of the grouped alerts are then hidden. By selecting the icon next to the group on the Overview page, the group is expanded showing each alert and its details. If this setting is enabled, the alert group is always expanded on the Overview pages. |
Refer to the table below for field descriptions of the Reporting and exports section.
Field label | Description |
---|---|
Page orientation for PDF exports | The page orientation for PDF exports: Default, Portrait, or Landscape. If Default is selected, the export will use the pre-defined settings for each list. Note: The list content is adapted to fit the page. Therefore, page orientation will affect the font size of the content. |
Format handling for export to Excel from lists | The preferred file format for Excel exports. The Excel 2003 format contains a 65 000 row limit. Select Use format for Excel 2007/2010 (no row limit) to avoid that limitation. Native Microsoft Excel 2007 and 2010 formats (xlsx) are supported which radically decreases file size when exporting reports and lists. Note: Files exported in the Excel 2007/2010 format cannot be opened in earlier versions of Excel. |
In the Import section, the Organization separator setting is obsolete.
Refer to the table below for field descriptions of the License allocation section.
Field label | Description |
---|---|
Auto allocate licenses | If this setting is enabled, Auto allocate will be enabled by default when you add a license purchase for a metric that has the auto allocation functionality. For more information, see Assignment. |
Alerts
The Alerts tab shows available alert types related to agreements, applications, computers, licenses, and users in SAM Core. Alerts of the selected types will appear on the respective Overview page, and also on your selected Home page. Clear the checkboxes of the alert types you don't want to see.
