Manage computer standards

Learn how to use computer standards in SAM Core as a tool for budget calculations.

Add computer standards

  1. On the SAM Core menu, under Home, select Administration.
  2. Select Computer standards.
  3. On the Computer standards tab, select Add computer standard.
  4. Enter a Name for the computer standard.
  5. Enter minimum requirements for the hardware components Processor speedMemory, and Total disk space.
  6. Select Save.

Add computer standards using a computer as basis

When you want to create a new computer standard, you can use an existing computer in your environment as basis.

  1. On the SAM Core menu, select Computers.
  2. Find and select the computer you want to use as basis for the computer standard. For information on how to filter, sort, and group the list of computers, see Manage lists.
  3. Select the three dots in the upper-right corner of the page, and then select Use as computer standard.
  4. In Add computer standard, the requirements for Processor speedMemory, and Total disk space are set automatically based on the selected computer. If needed, you can change the requirements.
  5. Select Save.

Edit computer standards

  1. On the SAM Core menu, under Home, select Administration.
  2. Select Computer standards.
  3. On the Computer standards tab, select the name of the computer standard you want to edit.
  4. Add or edit the applicable information.
  5. Select Save.

Delete computer standards

  1. On the SAM Core menu, under Home, select Administration.
  2. Select Computer standards.
  3. On the Computer standards tab, select the delete icon next to the name of the computer standard you want to delete.
  4. Select OK to confirm.
