Manage cost periods in Generic SaaS

Learn how to add and delete cost periods for SaaS subscriptions in SAM Core on Snow Atlas.

Add cost periods

A cost period is valid until a new cost period is added. Hence, if the cost for a license or a subscription plan changes, a new cost period must be added. It is possible to add both older and future cost periods. However, it is only possible to add an old cost period if there is imported user data for this period.

  1. On the SAM Core menu, under Applications, select Generic SaaS.

  2. On the Total monthly cost tab, and in the SaaS service providers table, select the applicable service provider.

  3. On the Total monthly cost tab for the service provider, and in the SaaS service providers table, select the subscription type to which you want to add a cost period.

  4. On the Total monthly cost tab for the subscription type, select Edit cost periods.

  5. Select Add new cost period.

  6. Select the month and year from when the periods starts.

  7. Set the price for the subscription plan or subscription and select the currency for the period.

    note

    For SaaS subscriptions, the cost model can vary and depends on the service provider.

  8. Select Add period.

    The added cost period is being processed.

  9. Select Close.

  10. If the cost period is not added automatically, refresh the page.

Delete cost periods

It is not possible to edit a cost period, but it is possible to delete a cost period.

  1. On the SAM Core menu, under Applications, select Generic SaaS.

  2. On the Total monthly cost tab, and in the SaaS service providers table, select the applicable service provider.

  3. On the Total monthly cost tab for the service provider, and in the SaaS service providers table, select the subscription type for which you want to delete a cost period.

  4. On the Total monthly cost tab for the subscription type, select Edit cost periods.

  5. Select Delete for the cost period to be deleted.

  6. Select Yes, delete period.

    The deleted cost period is being processed.

  7. Select Close.

  8. If the cost period is not deleted automatically, refresh the page.
