Manage user linking in Adobe Creative Cloud

Learn how to improve and manage linking of Adobe Creative Cloud users with Snow inventoried users in SAM Core on Snow Atlas.

Users are linked during the import of the Adobe Creative Cloud connector by matching the email addresses of Snow inventoried users with the Adobe user names from the Adobe Creative Cloud Portal. The best way to retain accurate user linking is to keep user email addresses up to date in the Adobe Creative Cloud portal.

Improve user linking with Active Directory user discovery

Use Active Directory user discovery to improve the automatic user linking and bring additional value to the Adobe Creative Cloud feature.

  • Enable Active Directory user discovery in Snow Extender to collect user data from Active Directory. The collected data is used to generate user objects in SAM Core so that they can be linked to the users from Adobe Creative Cloud portal data during imports. For more information on how to enable Active Directory user discovery, see Add Active Directory domains.

Improve user linking through manual matching with Adobe user names

If Active Directory user discovery is not used to improve user linking, you can improve it by editing the email addresses of inventoried users through an import or manually.

  1. Create a list with the user names of the Snow inventoried users that you want to match with a corresponding Adobe Creative Cloud user.

The Snow inventoried users are found in the All users report or in the List all users view.

  2. Add a column with the matching Adobe user name for each user.

  3. Import the data by updating the existing users, as described in Update existing users.

At the Field mappings step, ensure that the Adobe user name field is mapped to the Email address field.

You can also manually edit the email address for users one by one, by entering the Adobe user name in E-mail for the user. For more information, see Manage users.

Manually link users that could not be automatically linked, based on suggested matches and manual input on the Link users page.

tip

One Adobe account can be linked to several Snow inventoried users.

  1. In the Adobe Creative Cloud navigation bar, select Link users.

The Users to link tab appears.

  2. Review the suggested matches.

Each row in the table shows Adobe users and any suggested link options for inventoried users. Link options can be either an inventoried user name or email address.

  3. Select the rows for the users that you want to link.

You can change the suggestions in the Link options column. In case of multiple users, add them comma-separated without space: username1,username2,useremail3.

  4. Select Preview to review the linking.

    • To edit a user linking, in the Link options column, edit the row of each Adobe user. Select the save icon.

    • To remove a user linking, select the delete icon on the user row. The user is moved back to the Users to link tab.

    • If you are satisfied with the user linking, go to Step 5.

  5. Select Save to confirm the linking.

Incorrectly entered user names or email addresses will be disregarded during the linking. If all link options for an Adobe user are incorrect, the user is moved back to the Users to link tab.

  6. To edit or remove the linking for a user, select the Linked users tab.

    • To edit the linking, in the Link options column, edit the inventoried user name or email address on the row for the user and select the save icon.

    • To remove the linking, select the delete icon on the user row. This unlinks the user accounts, and the Adobe user is moved to the Users to link tab.
