Snow Atlas is a cloud-native technology intelligence platform providing Snow products as SaaS solutions.

SAM Core on Snow Atlas enables you to manage and control your organization's software assets, and optimize their use.

Technical overview

SAM Core on Snow Atlas requires local installations of Snow technology, such as Snow Inventory Agents and Snow Integration Manager, to gather data from your environment. These are configured to send all gathered data to the Snow Extenders. The Snow Extenders then forward the data to Snow Atlas.

The table below gives a summary description of each component, including links for more information on how to install and configure the components.

Component	Description
Snow Inventory Agents and Oracle Scanners	Computers and servers in the IT environment are inventoried by the Snow Inventory Agents and the Snow Inventory Oracle Scanners. The data is sent to the Snow Extenders. For more information, see Snow Inventory Agents and Oracle Scanners. The system requirements provide the specifications and recommendations of resources that you require to install and run Snow Inventory Agents and Oracle Scanners. Refer to the compatibility matrix for cross-references of the supported third-party versions of operating systems, environments and integrations.
Snow Integration Manager	The Snow Integration Connectors integrate with third-party inventory solutions and virtualization technologies to collect inventory data. The data is then gathered in Snow Integration Manager and sent to the Snow Extenders. For more information, see Snow Integration Manager. The system requirements provide the specifications and recommendations of resources that you require to install and run Snow Integration Manager. Refer to the compatibility matrix for cross-references of the supported third-party versions of operating systems, environments and integrations.
Snow Extenders	The Snow Extenders are the connection between the local environment and Snow Atlas. The Snow Inventory Agents, Snow Inventory Oracle Scanners, and Snow Integration Manager are configured to send all collected data to the Snow Extenders. The Snow Extenders then forward the collected data to Snow Atlas. For more information, see Snow Extenders. An enrollment site is a logical unit within a system where you enroll client applications, such as Snow Extenders, and keys required to secure the communication for applications that connect to Snow cloud services. Snow Atlas	The system requirements provide the specifications of resources that you require for SAM Core on Snow Atlas. The security considerations describe the security considerations for the connection and data transfer between Snow products installed in the customer environment and SAM Core on Snow Atlas.
SAM Core user interface	The SAM Core user interface is where all information on software installations, usage, users, computers, mobile devices, licenses, and agreements is managed.
