Currency

In SaaS you can use multiple currencies when adding subscription costs. All costs on the SaaS pages are converted and shown, with a currency code, in the base currency.

Currency management

The base currency is defined for each Snow Atlas system which means that all users of that system have the same base currency. The conversion to other currencies is done using defined currency exchange rates, or fixed rates.

For more information on currency settings and how to manage fixed rates in Snow Atlas, see Currency settings and Manage currency settings.

Additionally in Snow Atlas, you can select your preferred currency to see costs in another currency than the base currency. For more information, see Select your preferred currency.

note
  • Preferred currency is currently not supported in the SaaS pages. All costs are shown in the base currency.

  • After you edit or delete a fixed rate in Snow Atlas settings, it can take up to a few minutes for currency values in the SaaS pages to update. To manually update currency values, select Update data at the bottom of a SaaS page.

Subscription currency

When you add or edit billing information for a SaaS subscription, you can select a subscription currency for the entered cost. This is the currency in which the subscription is purchased, and may be different from the base currency or your preferred currency. The selection of a subscription currency requires that you first select a purchase date, and that a fixed rate, that covers the purchase date, is available in your system.

All entered costs, irrespective of subscription currency, are then converted to the base currency and shown on the SaaS pages.

note

If you have selected a subscription currency that is different from your base currency, entered the cost, and the fixed rate is then changed for that period, no corrections are made to historical values where this cost is used. This limitations applies to indicators and charts with total calculations that include historical data.
