Containers overview
Use the Vendors, Applications, and Containers pages to gain an overview of your containerized environment, based on the data collected by the container connectors that you install in your clusters. For more information on installing container connectors, see Set up container connectors.
From the Containers menu, the Vendors, Applications, and Containers pages show the consolidated data identified in your clusters. The data is shown in tables. This allows you to sort and filter the results to visualize the information that you require.
You can select the date range that you want to view for the pages. Custom ranges are limited to 90 days.
Vendors
The Vendors page shows the identified vendors of the applications running in your clusters during the period that you select. This provides you with an overview of the different vendors and the number of containers with applications installed from each vendor. This allows you to check if recent deployments are being identified correctly by the relevant container connectors.
To view the applications from each vendor, select the vendor name.
Applications
The Applications page shows the identified applications running in your clusters during the period that you select. This provides you with an overview of the applications with properties that you can filter on. For example, you can view the edition and version of each application, the number of containers that an application is running in, and if a license is required for an application.
To view the containers that a specific application is running in, and details of the application, select the application name.
Application family
To view information on the containers with applications from a specific application family, select the application family name. For example, you can view the containers that the applications are running in, the runtime of those containers, and the edition of the application family.
An Application family only appears for applications that are part of an application family.
Containers
The Containers page shows the containers running in your clusters during the period that you select. This provides you with an overview of all the containers running in your environment with properties that you can filter on.
To view the applications running in a container, and details of the container, select the container name.
The container details include the resource limits for a specific container, and the container and pod states. In Details, if there is no data to collect for a property, the value is empty.
If the Container state for a container shows Disconnected, this can indicate:
-
A temporary loss of contact with the container connector in that cluster, for example, due to a network error or a node no longer responds.
The state updates when the temporary issue has been resolved.
-
The container connector, installed in the cluster in which the container is running, has been uninstalled.
-
A new secret key has been generated for the container connector in that cluster, but the secret key has not been deployed to the connector.
If the Container state for a container shows Terminated, this can indicate:
-
The container in the cluster, in which the container connector is installed, is no longer running.
-
The container connector, installed in the cluster in which the container is running, has been deleted in Snow Atlas.
