Manage the Data Update Job

Learn how to schedule the Data Update Job, how to run it manually, and how to view and export the logs created during the job.

Users of Snow License Manager are able to access and work with inventory assets while the Data Update Job runs. However, if a specific page or area is momentarily being processed by the Data Update Job, it will temporarily be unavailable.

Schedule the Data Update Job

To manage scheduling of the Data Update job:

  1. On the Administration menu, click Data Update Job.

  2. Click Schedule.

  3. In Frequency, do the following:

    1. In the Occurs list, select the frequency of the update job: Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.

    2. Select recurrence. Available recurrence settings depend on the selected frequency.

  4. In Time settings, use Occurs at to select the time of day for the update job.

  5. Click Apply.

Run the Data Update Job manually

To run the Data Update Job outside of the schedule:

  1. On the Administration menu, click Data Update Job.

  2. In the lower-left corner of the page, click Start Data Update Job now.

View and export Data Update Job logs

To see information about the different logs created during a scheduled job:

  1. On the Administration menu, click Data Update Job.

  2. Click Update log.

    • The Current Job Log tab shows information on the most recent scheduled job.

    • The Job Log History tab shows log information on historical jobs. Use the Select Job list to select a date.

  3. To export a job log, do the following

    1. On the page that shows the log you want to export. click Export at the bottom of the page.

    2. In Windows File Explorer, select a location for the file, enter a File name, and select a file type. Available export formats are Excel, PDF, XML, and text file.

    3. Click Save.
