Configure the FrontRange HEAT Discovery connector

The HEAT Discovery connector uses a database connection (SQL). The Snow Integration Connector for HEAT Discovery is configured in Snow Integration Manager (SIM). For more information on SIM, see Snow Integration Manager.

Prerequisites

A user account with read-only access to the HEAT Discovery database.

In the HEAT client, configure the executable file names to be included in the Inventory Settings Software Files tab via the Include/Exclude from Inventory quick action.

Procedure

  1. In the Server, enter the name of the SQL server where the HEAT Discovery database resides.

  2. Select one of the following authentication methods:

    • In the User id and Password, enter credentials for an SQL user account with read-only access to the HEAT Discovery database.

    • To use Windows integrated security to access the HEAT Discovery database, select the Use integrated security.

  3. In the Database list, select the HEAT Discovery database to connect to.

  4. In the Timeout (sec), set a timeout for the database connection.

  5. To verify the connection, select Test connection.

  6. In the Initial aggregation length, select the number of months for the initial aggregation of inventory data.

  7. To reset an ongoing incremental aggregation, select Clear Last Aggregation Date.

  8. Optional: Enter a site Id for this connector.
